Fraunhofer TESTED DEVICE® Certification

Customers and end-users are demanding ever higher standards of quality. The legislator is tightening up cleanliness and sterility requirements, and an increasing number of processes or products can meanwhile only find continued use by improving the cleanliness of production conditions or promoting miniaturization. Numerous industries depend on manufacturing based on clean or even ultraclean conditions. Even minute contaminants in the manufacturing process cause substantial disruptions and losses, feeding through into a continual increase in the demand for cleanroom equipment, apparatus, materials and production resources.

Fraunhofer TESTED DEVICE® is an internationally recognized certificate for products which have been objectively qualified based on acknowledged standards and guidelines governing their suitability for cleanroom applications. The information provided by manufacturers on the suitability of products for use in cleanroom production is often not sufficient to provide an overall assessment of the relevant characteristics, as the information is based on non-standardized or in-house testing methods. Companies therefore often ask for the Fraunhofer TESTED DEVICE® certificate before purchasing. But even without such a requirement, the certificate may also be a decisive argument in sales efforts.
